KOWLOON GENERIC ROMANCE : Episode 9

I can’t help but feel like this story is getting a bit messy and also slowing down a fare bit. We are nearing the end of the show, but I still don’t really see how they are going to be wrapping this up. I know the manga is still on-going, so maybe they will leave it on a read the manga cliffhanger.

As for some events of the episode, the most interesting thing thus far is what consuming food inside of Kowloon did to Youmei. It essentially wiped her memory of the time she spent outside of the city. Which is honestly just crazy, but also confusing because what does that lead to and let us learn? Like I’m not really sure how that helps solve the larger mystery at all, that Kowloon and the gene terra is an odd thing that is doing crazy things?

With the trend of not knowing what to think, the one night stand between Reiko and Kudou is another that I’m unsure about. And in many ways I feel Kudou is just taking advantage of Reiko at this point, he obviously can’t get over her death which is why he is here. But also can’t accept that the person he sees in front of him isn’t actually Reiko, leading to him constantly doing things that are attempting to draw out the original Reiko. Now could it be it is working to some degree? After all Reiko saw the memory of Reiko B through the glasses, honestly not sure at all.

For larger future plot, it seems they may be plotting getting Reiko out of the city to test what happens when she leaves. Which is honestly something I’m very much interested in happening.
