Scarlet Nexus : Episode 21

What an odd episode, changing things from the game as expected. Instead of the fighting from the game they just literally unravel some strings and call it good. I can’t say I expected them to do things this way compared to the game. But what I really find odd is the Mother was still around when they left the gate, than leaves, and than plays the message. I guess it works, it just feels odd. Why did she bother recording the message if she was planning on staying and saying good-bye in person?
