Penguindrum : Episode 16

Well that was an episode dedicated to Masako. We haven’t seen much about why she is involved in this previously, so this was expected at some point. And in the end I think it might have given me a decent amount of information about what is going on with this show, or it might not have. After-all this show is rather confusing and kinda misleading, so I don’t know what to believe. Well that and I still don’t have enough information to actually even make a prediction or figure out who everyone is working with or against or the larger goals.

If this episode is to be believed, the penguindrum group and the doctor with the bunnies, are working to some goal involving the larger world. And somehow Kanba was involved previously with the group, possibly how he gets all this money? I’m guessing that maybe the parents were also involved with this group. Meanwhile Masako has decided that she doesn’t want to work with this group and their methods, but also doesn’t want Kanba involved with them. So that is were the whole trying to make Kanba forget about the fighting and getting rid of his contacts comes into play, possibly all related to some rather odd form of romantic feelings she has for him.

But of course major things are still questions, like what is with the whole coming back from death with a penguin hat. Or the diary. Or the magical penguins that nobody can see. Or Kanba having balls that can make people forget somebody. And you know all that other magic and stuff that is happening in this show. Yea, I might have a slightly better idea, maybe? But in general I still know nothing, and not even close to having enough to make a guess.
