86 EIGHTY-SIX Season 2: Episode 6

I’m kinda disappointed that we did not get more from the Republic. We got that quick couple scenes at the very beginning, and a map overly. But nothing more about how things are going with them. I was expecting to spend some time with them after the previous episode ended with them.

This episode though brings up old questions again to my mind. And I’m hoping, but doubtful, they ever get answered. And that is why we don’t seem to see any form of air force or aerial units in play by any side, and above that any space based weaponry. They mention that the Legion has very good AA, but to my knowledge we have never even seen a plane to demonstrate that fact. Seems like they more refer to AA for shooting down guided missiles than anything. And I haven’t seen any attempts to launch satellites or space craft for even better visuals, or crazy ideas like “rods from god”.

Ugh, honestly this is my biggest issue with the show. Which I guess is both a compliment to it and a complaint. I enjoy the show and the setting and want to know more. I want to see more of these details and information and general world building that they will never give me. So I’m left feeling like I constantly looking for more and more, and knowing I just will not get that info.

As for more about the episode, it seems we are getting a bit more detail on Shin these past two episode. And everything that he has been carrying along all this time. And maybe a slight possibility it is driving him slightly crazy. Maybe fighting as a suicide solider that has managed to survive so many attempts is finally catching up to him. Or this is how he has always been, and he just now has the equipment that can survive the demands he makes of it.

Whatever happens, I am excited to see how things continue.
