The Faraway Paladin: Episode 4
This show is just disappointing to me. We are spending forever on this single starting story arc, and it just is getting tiring. I don’t understand the events that are actually occurring at the moment I feel like enough to truly care.
Will is now suddenly fighting a God who has decided to come down to the planet to claim 3 souls. What are the rules that regulate this God? Cause he must have some massive restrictions I feel like, otherwise these are some incredibly weak Gods. A true God would come down and just Thanos snap his enemies out of the way to achieve his goal, given he doesn’t do that he must have some artificial restrictions. But we haven’t seen what those are, so I don’t have any way of judging power levels at all during this fight. Or any context for why the God would be restricted ether.
This is also the 4th episode, and the 5th will also take place in this same area it seems. So when are we actually going to leave and see the other events that happen in the OP. And what will be the actual story of this show? We have been stuck in this prologue for so long we don’t have any actual story to take place afterwards. I see events happen in the OP, but quickly the episodes pass by without any of those events happening. And it gives me the feeling that this will just fall apart near the end. I don’t see how they could create a satisfying conclusion to this season at all with how few episodes are still left, along with also developing new characters and the rest of the actual world. This will ether be an incredibly disappointing and rushed ending, or just kinda end mid book with a go read the source style ending.
Another issue that is really getting glaring with this episode is the lackluster animation. This fight against a God was just real boring. A fight against a God should be big and explosive and powerful and give the context of how important this is. But instead we have 2 dozen random skeletons that just kinda explode into some dust. With the visuals being rather low quality for what I would have expected.
