86 EIGHTY-SIX Season 2: Episode 2

I really hope this season with Shin and the rest doesn’t turn into just a school arc. I would be really annoyed if that is how this season went on to progress. I’m hoping at the minimum we have just an episode or two of this before returning to the fights.

As for the various scenes and characters we met this episode. And the places they went and looked at. I feel it is pretty obvious that they are setting up things to get much worse for this city and characters by the end. If at least they continue the trend they set in the first season. Get us invested in all this stuff to kill it off over the course of the season. Though I would be pleasantly surprised if they didn’t do that, if they actually had competent leadership and fought back the enemy and won with limited causalities.

Something I am still hoping they work on explaining or showing, is more of the meat of this city and country. Not the shops or people going to libraries. But the stuff of how they are actually continuing to fight a long war against the enemy, the manufacturing facilities and massive farms that would be necessary. If not the season will let me down in the same way the first did.
