The Faraway Paladin: Episode 1

Can a isekai be both unique and generic at the same time? The unique portion is the company he finds himself in at the start. Not many times I’ve seen somebody getting reincarnated and getting taken care of by a bunch of undead creatures. And they seem like they will actually be characters, with personalities and personal histories that we might explore.

But the generic part is the isekai part of the show I guess. Getting reincarnated as a baby and growing up again. While also seemingly being rather a genius when it comes to certain aspects. I’m sure he will end up being OP in the near future.

Where I think my opinion on the show will go is if/when he leaves this home with the undead. If he leaves to explore the world and learn more in a generic story I will be disappointed. It will just end up being yet another isekai story following the same plot at that point. But if he sticks around with the undead, growing and learning more about them and world. It could be interesting, a different take were the character doesn’t have any real drive to run around the world defeating great evil or something. And instead just wants to be with his unique family while he grows for awhile.

We shall see where it goes from here I guess.
