The Aquatope on White Sand : Episode 1

Well we are starting off with a new PA Works anime, haven’t seen one in awhile actually. And it fits the role as expected, the artwork looks great and overall a real stunning show. Outside of the cgi bits, the cgi fish and fish tanks just look horrendous. Why? Why not just draw and animate some incredible looking fish instead of using cgi.

The characters thus far are pretty interesting. And I want to learn more about them and see where things go from here. It feels like it shares many of the characteristics of their previous shows that I really like.

But at the same time, it does worry me. Their shows are ether really good, or utterly generic and uninteresting to me. And I will have to see where things go from here. The unique issues at this aquarium definitely draw my interest, I just hope they execute them well.

We shall see.
