I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level : Full Review

So you have some time to kill, and want to get over your latest super depressing anime. Then you have found the correct choice. Another show in the long list of cute characters having fun, the stakes are non-existent and you know nothing ever will go wrong. No death, no destruction, no issues, just happy adorable characters.

Honestly, it doesn’t have a ton to say about it. This isn’t a deep show that requires in depth discussion. A story, it exists, but I wouldn’t say it actually matters. The whole premise is super simple, incredibly overpowered character is a loner for many years. And suddenly adopts two girls who call themselves her daughters, and the family begins. From there the cast continues to grow and they have silly adventures. Each one ending with ether more characters joining the family, joining the main rotating cast, or honestly being forgotten about after a couple minutes. One thing everyone shares in common, they are all cute female characters that are enjoyable to watch.

And really, that is what this show is actually about. Watching these characters interact and have fun together. Get into adorable high jinks together and have some minor adventures. I can’t even say they grow all that much over the course of the show. They have small arcs during their episode, and occasionally will grow and change during another episode. But for the most part, they are pretty static. And for this style show, I don’t have any complaints about that.

I do have one complaint though, the visuals are kinda distractedly bad. Not in a bad CGI way, I don’t think they even have CGI in the show. No, the whole thing just looks incredibly low res even at 1080p, which we all know is actually 720p upscaled, but for this show it looks even worse. You can easily sit down and count how many pixels make up characters. I really hope the show gets some proper upscaling for the blu-ray release to help the issue. Otherwise, it looks fine. it fits the characters and style of the show just fine. Won’t be winning any awards, but it all fits very well. Surprisingly occasionally we to end up with an actual fight scene. And for those it does have some pretty smooth and well done visuals, I really didn’t expect that at all.

Something I do love is the sound effects. The show is really good at adding little sound effects to enhance what the characters are doing. Little boops and dings, just super minor things. But they work really well and really enhance the scenes when they get used.

So if you want a fun and enjoyable time. Just relax and chill after work, or a depressing show. You found the right place. Adorable characters having a good time interacting each episode, with essentially no conflict or worries.
