The Witch and the Beast : Episode 8 & 9

Well those were two action packed episodes, and in general a very big and explosive arc in general. An entire city pretty much destroyed and a demon sword damaged. Honestly it is a pretty crazy set of episodes in general, and kinda what I would have expected from this show. When you go in with the idea that you have some powerful beast hidden in a coffin, but never see it do anything. It kinda harms the general idea of the show for me, so I really enjoyed seeing Guideau unleashed here.

But with this, my main issue of the show is just story progress. This is obviously a very episodic show and manga, which I don’t hate per se. But it does lead to a kinda unsatisfying anime adaption. In which an entire season can go by, and nothing has really progressed with the characters or larger story at all. And your left with the show that is just a teaser for the manga, and hope you enjoyed it enough to go read the manga. And that is what has happened here. We have one more, maybe 2 arcs left in this show. And perhaps it will end on some major revelation or cliff-hanger still, but that main story with Guideau and Ashaf and their goals and organization has been expanded or explained at all.

But hey, I’m now caught up with the anime finally. So lets see how the show wraps up. And try to keep a bit better schedule, as long as I’m not distracted by something else.
