86 EIGHTY-SIX : Episode 6

This is a war of attrition, and this is a war the Republic is failing on all fronts and destined to loose. Two pretty obvious observations I feel from this episode are; they don’t have any extra troops to reinforce the eight-six unit, and those mortars have never worked over the course of this war. Reinforcements would rely on them having a method for raising and nurturing new soldiers to replace the dead, and given they are desperate enough to send teenagers to the battlefield, there is no next generation. They are placing all their hope on the war ending before they run out, and that is a bet I would not take.

Some foreshadowing with Henrietta this episode, and not positive. If somebody makes plans for the future it is guaranteed that future never occurs. I don’t feel like it will happen quickly, but probably by the end of this first season. Which I’m figuring will end with an attack directly on the city or the walls, possibly even breaking through. It would be a super major event, and a great cliffhanger to end the season on.

I still wish I could learn more about whatever is happening inside the city, and learn more about this world inside. I really want to know how much the Republic actually knows. If they are clueless, or have just been overextended, or just lost control of the situation over the years to the point we reach now. Really hoping I get more info about them by the end of the season.
