Mars Red : Episode 6

Ok, finally caught up again. And honestly, this show has quickly lost me. It feels like it is moving really quickly between scenes and characters and developments, and not doing enough to really justify everything that is occurring.

The show started off nice and simple, you had the vampires and the vampire unit fighting the vampires. With both sides having minor mysteries to figure out, like who is creating the vampires and ranks. Meanwhile the soldier side has stuff like backstories for these characters and motivations to figure out. But in general I feel it was a nice and contained story that was simple to follow and enjoy.

But we have quickly moved away from that. We have gained a third party in human created vampires and a general who doesn’t want to loose any more men. But the original parties feel like they have been forgotten at this point. I still know very little about the other members of the original vampire unit, and honestly don’t feel much for anyone outside of Yamagami. And the original vampires seems to almost be forgotten about. And when we do get them it gets rushed and confused, running into the events of the new human created vampire story. Is it too much to ask that we wrap up one story line before starting another.

Also minor comment, I always love how stupid the idea of a vampire military unit is. It is literally one of the worst idea’s I could think of tbh. Probably ranking with the dinosaur soldiers from Jurassic Park’s new movies. This is a group that can only fight or move at night. But it also means their assault on locations is on a hard time frame, you have to assault and kill and take the enemy location in a couple hours, or do a full retreat with plenty of time to return to base before daybreak. All an enemy group needs to do is outlast the attackers until dawn comes.
