Well that was a pretty emotionally charged episode all around. We have Iona kinda coming to the understanding that she has changed, and has feelings for Chihaya. And Takao deciding to sacrifice herself to rebuild Iona and save both of them. Finally ending it off with some in-fighting between the other 400 submarines and Kongou. I am disappointed to learn about Maya, I really liked her excitable and kinda carefree attitude.

Though the events of the episode brings back the question. What are nano-materials? Like are there different types of nano-materials, some that can be used for mental models and others for ships? Or are they universal as the general name implies? And where exactly do these nano-materials come from anyway?

Because the whole emotional states of Takao sacrificing herself for Iona make less sense. When you think of the massive ship made of nano-materials that is sitting next to them. I would imagine you could just use those nano-materials, but I guess not for some unexplained reason. It still works, but just leaves me with a massive answered question. I just wish we got an answer at least what they were, or where you get more of them from.
