So I guess the method the show is going with for why that Toyota 86 can beat so many better cars comes down to Kanata having that perfect memory, and also zero concern for his personal safety. He is apparently perfectly willing to go full out all the time to gain some extra time. Where-as the rest of the drivers thus far have been maintaining a healthy margin for error in their racing since this isn’t really a serious competition or anything. They come in for a year or two and enjoy something different, before returning back to whatever their main racing competition is.

Which will make things interesting in the future, because were do we go from here. Sure he might be able to get an extra place or two from doing the track a couple more times, but how much more can he really get from just driving a tad insane when he is so far behind in pure car terms. We gonna see some Toyota 86 modifications in the future, or is he just gonna pull some magic to gain more speed. And will we see some of the other competitors push a tad harder knowing somebody has shown up who apparently is willing to give 100% on the course.
