Nagi-Asu: A Lull in the Sea : Episode 1

Ok, this is gonna be a tough show for me to watch I think. I’m seeing this really high average score, and a bunch of good reviews, and PA Works. But this first episode was rough for me to watch.

The main character Hikari, yea I hate him already. That is possible the worst way they could have introduced this character to him, and I really don’t like him. Than we apparently already have a love triangle happening with the second main character Manaka and the new guy Tsumugu. And love triangles are competing for first place with harems for anime story motivations and tropes that I despise.

But it is also a PA Works anime with some great visuals. It looks good I like the colors and the animation style. Thus far everything works outside of the characters for me.

But during this first episode I’m remembering another new PA Works anime that had very similar themes and general setting, that ended poorly for me in aquatope. And I’m just kinda hoping this isn’t just a early version of that.
