Attack on Titan Season 2 : Episode 4

So is it just me, or was there pretty much no foreshadowing at all that Ymir is apparently a Titan as well. Like where did that come from at all. I’m not even sure what to think of the events, she is a rather forgettable character who has only really shown up in the second season and I know nothing about her. But guess she is now super important and a Titan as well, despite this being something nobody knew about before like a couple weeks ago. Is this gonna be a trend, everybody is now a Titan in order to fight back even if it makes little sense. Also get a feeling this is how humans will actually regain their cities and walls and such, not as humans but an army of titans that just keep appearing.

All the events prior also feel very pointless with the deaths of the survey squad. Especially after learning that Ymir is a Titan. We had an entire episode of death in which nothing was accomplished, and for nothing at all. And than a random character will save the day and make their deaths pointless.
