So I guess now the Haruka and Kanata arc is over. And honestly it feels like a super odd arc, because nothing is actually solved in the end. Like they have learned about their real parents, and Haruka knows about the relationship Kanata has with the family. And everything seems to come to the surface, and we are left with an ending that I seems to be happy. That family photo happened with everyone in it and all. But what part of that was a happy ending, and also completely unfinished.

Why would ether Haruka or Kanata just be ok, they were left in a terrible situation for years being abused while their real parents just sat on the side and did nothing. Like those aren’t very good parents if they just gave up their kids to the family to be abused. And the actual family situation doesn’t actually seem to be resolved, we never got anything with that. Sure Kanata said she would leave or whatever, but we never see a positive and good ending to that.

I don’t know if this is just an issue with the source, or an issue moving from the visual novel to anime. But this arc just doesn’t really work out well. I also still don’t understand the point of this show really. I am many episodes in now, and I don’t know where it is going or how it will end. Thus far it seems each character gets their own arc of a couple episodes in which their personal issue gets solved. And than they move onto the next character and nobody else in the group or the older character arcs play any role in whatever the next one is. Almost wish they had an obvious reset between arcs, with all the characters resetting to a common spot as an obvious split decision point in which a choice will put you on the other character arc.

I don’t really know, I am enjoying the show. Just confused by it.
