Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Season 2 : Episode 4
Current Episode Score: 8
And after that brief interlude of the events on Earth and all that conflict, we are back to the main story. And all the conflict and politics that it brings to the table. And it seems the next major plot is right in development of a new president for the Benerit Group since Delling is still out of commission. And with it Miorine and Suletta and everyone else gets drug into the election.
It looks like Miorine will go fully into the election and become the next president. For no reason really other than protecting Suletta from Prospera. And to try and keep her safe in general, not wrapped up in the conflicts that Miorine feels Suletta shouldn’t have to deal with. I do wonder how things will play out, with both Prospera and Miorine attempting to make decisions and plans for Suletta without her input or thoughts. Will things eventually backfire on both of them, or will Suletta just keep going along with things. Of course we also don’t know how Eri/Aerial plays into Suletta’s thoughts and decision making.
Something I do find interesting from the episode is how much power it seems Eri/Aerial actual have over whoever is with-in the cockpit of Aerial. It is something I’ve been wondering about, what their general relationship is actually. Does Suletta or another pilot need to be within the cockpit to control Aerial, or does Eri have total control of Aerial and simply lets Suletta or another pilot control to lessen the load on them. Or otherwise, can Aerial move and fight independently without a pilot. If so, that could be a massive potential plot point going forward.
At the point, I have no real issues or concerns with this show. And I’m fully invested. But I am kinda worried still the show just doesn’t have enough episodes. Especially with how much larger things have become with the 2nd cour. We now have many more moving parts and things happening at once. Between politics within the corporation, between planets, and characters. Alongside technical developments and more. There are a ton of moving parts, and I’m worried parts will start feeling lost or rushed along the way.
