That is honestly not how I was expecting this season to start off. After that ending of the first cour, I wasn’t expecting things to go back to relative calm afterward. But in some ways it makes sense, it serves as a good point to people around to new positions relatively easily.

They create a situation where Miorine and Prospera can work together in some rough way, and further the larger plot involving Gundams and power. Along with whatever Prospera’s actual plan is, because it definitely isn’t just helping her possible daughter.

Meanwhile of course you have Suletta and the rest of the company back at the school. Letting everyone remember how good Aerial is and that Suletta is a good pilot, along with just how much better the Gundam format is before the harder fights start next episode. And this next episode I’m expecting a very hard fight, despite Sophie/Norea using a Gundam they aren’t used to in Pharact. I’m expecting this to be a grueling fight to start off the season. Not sure who will actually come out ahead in the fight.

In one way, you need to make sure to reinforce the idea that the Dawn of Fold group is a serious threat to make any further conflict in the show have stakes. So you can’t exactly just have them be defeated super fast and easy. But you also don’t want to just see Suletta and Aerial dominate forever and have no real challenge during Gundam fights. You loose so much of the tension if you know Suletta and Aerial will never loose. Possible it ends in a tie or a forced to stop due to station damage or something, some reason to not really crown a winner of the fight.
