Ningen Fushin: Adventurers Who Don’t Believe in Humanity Will Save the World : Episode 4

This is a fine episode that introduces the primary weapon the team will use in the future. Whenever they face a super difficult fight they can pull it out and use it to defeat the enemy. With the main issue being they need to stay friends and have good relationships or the sword won’t work properly of course. It is a fairly unique take on the idea I would say, and I don’t hate it.

What I don’t love is the visual style of the labyrinth really, or the changes they made to it and the dialogue choices along the way. There was a decent amount of backstory and info presented in the manga they just didn’t include in the anime, to actually expand and explain what the sword is and the history. I mentioned it, but I don’t like the changes to this labyrinth to turn it into some modern lab, and than don’t do much more with the idea at all. Another anime that made that change was Eminence in Shadow, but they expanded on the idea and used the modern area to do things with the visuals and the fight they could do without it. But for this they didn’t do anything with it, nothing would have changed if they didn’t make this a modern facility, it just feels kinda pointless.

Finally the animation really lets this show down in general. It is yet another show that just has pretty below average animation and visual style I feel. Lots of very simplistic animated walking scenes that require very little work, and strange movements that just look good. I’m always just taken out of shows that get stuck in that below average level of animation.
