[C] – CONTROL : Episode 1

I don’t really know what to make of this show in this first episode. In general I am getting real mixed feelings from the show. I don’t fully understand if this is a future world in which money has more importance than normal, or is this just the reactions of broke students who suddenly can have more money. And this whole game they are playing in this alternative reality, I don’t really get what that is all about at all.

Some things I’m hoping get explained in the next episode. What exactly is up with this other world and this dueling with money. What are the rules and goals exactly? Longer term I really hope they explain how much power this group has, because just giving hundreds of thousands of yen to random people would surely screw up both the economy, and their taxes at the end of the year.

Other things that I already don’t really like. The visuals most of the time are just decent. But they also will randomly switch over to full CGI, and as always with this cheap CGI replacements it looks like garbage. I don’t understand why companies do it, and if they are why can’t they at least do a good job. OP was pretty good though, can say that.

Random side note, what is up with the Hanabi? Like seriously? She comes onto the main character super strong, and gives off every single vibe that she want to date him. And than she just drops that bomb that she has a boyfriend. If this is how she always is I can understand why Kimimaro never tried to date her with such mixed messaging going on.
