It is kinda impressive how Cid manages to do these absolutely badass and incredible moves, but also say the cheesiest things possible at the same time. But anyway, I think the anime might be my favorite version of this series. I’m reading both the light novel and the manga, but I think the anime is just doing the best job at expanding on things that I felt were odd to skip over. Expanding the cast and giving them more personality and time to shine. And also just looking really cool at the same time.

Changes like increasing the general tech level of shadow garden and the cult, probably make much more sense with the general style of the show. Of these incredibly powerful and hidden organizations, and magic that allows you to travel between worlds. It just works really well and makes perfect sense, I have no complaints about those changes. But the biggest thing for me was the final attack of the battle, and the repercussions of such an attack. I always felt it was odd we never saw the destruction and displacement that would cause. It destroyed dozens of city blocks and flooded half the city, I can just imagine a city wide disaster of that sort would have killed hundreds and caused millions in damages. And yet it kinda just gets ignored in the light novel and manga. So I’m glad to see it shown a little bit what would happen from that attack.

But as the anime progresses, it just makes me really wish they would hurry up and release the next translation of the light novel.
