I haven’t watched a Gundam show in a long time, and keep looking for a good time to jump into the series. And given this is an original that requires no knowledge of the rest of the series, I figured what better time to jump into it. And I’m in love already. Actually I already fell in love with the show in that prequel episode.

I am loving the characters, you have the ice princess of Miorine and the super shy kid who excels and is outgoing on a single thing in Suletta. And I’m sure we will get a number of other cast members to fill out the group and fill various roles to come still. Plus you know, first episode marriage agreement, that was unexpected.

I like the setting we are placed in, this school floating in space attached to a massive asteroid. With mega-corps who seem to be controlling massive amounts of power and influence on the world around them, giving the whole thing a very dystopian feel. When the leaders of the corporations are willing to just commit murder and have no worries about repercussions, the tone is set very quickly. And I really want to learn more and see more of this world as the show develops in the future.

Of course I can’t forget that animation and those visuals. I’ve said it before recently, but shows recently have just gotten to be stunning. Long gone are the days that every show just didn’t look very good, and would just look bland and boring by default. With only a single show or two standing out in the visual department. But this show adds to the list of things coming this season that have some amazing visuals and some incredibly smooth animation. And I really hope this trend continues long in the future.

Honestly, I’m just excited to see this show. I can see this being a very good watch and something I really enjoy.
