That was a very unexpected and epic episode. I can confidently say I didn’t expect to travel into another world to have a fight with Shide, who is controlling his armor through a baby while still in the real world. That is very complex and outside of what I could have guessed. I figured we would have the start of the final fight, but nothing like this. I still hope we get to learn the final real secret about Haine, what she really is and how she got into the real world. But I hope to get that answer in the final episodes.
As for the next episode, I’m going to figure they need to separate again. Ushio will have to deal the final blow to Shide’s armor and destroy it completely. Removing it and Haine from the picture completely. While Shinpei finds a way back to the real world to assist in tracking down Shide’s real body and killing it as well. That is the only way it will all be over for good. I don’t have any clue though who will actually be surviving these final fights, or how the whole shadow thing will end up. I hope Ushio survives, but I could also see it being a sad ending with Ushio winning the fight and Shide being defeated, but she still passed away from injuries. Maybe leave it a bit open ended with her shell left behind.
Something I do want to mention with this episode is the animation. It was really smooth and incredibly with this episode. Far beyond what I was expecting from this show, or really what we have seen before with the show. I hope they can keep that quality up for the final two episodes, and we have some final fights that are just visually impressive.
