Sankarea: Undying Love : Episode 10

This really is a very awkward show that doesn’t really know what tone it wanted to go with at all. I don’t know if this is supposed to be super serious, after all he was just kidnapped. But he also is making jokes and the characters aren’t behaving the way they should in a kidnapping case.

And this episode we got a deep dive and history on the mother, or step-mother as we now know. And like great, but I have never once really cared about her. Did we really need her backstory to understand what will happen next in the show, I’m pretty certain just knowing she was a drunk and a bad mother would have been perfectly fine also. It does expand more on the father and how he is a rather terrible and creepy man, but we already knew that.

Really nothing in this episode really told us anything new or really progressed the plot and the characters in a way I cared about. And so we are left with 2 more episodes to somehow clean up this kidnapping plot, and also figure out what to do with Rea and the whole decaying zombie thing. Which by this point I’m certain they are just gonna ignore, they will end the show and just say everything is just fine. Act like she isn’t actually a zombie that will die from decay shortly.
