86 EIGHTY-SIX Season 2: Episode 12

Finally this second season is done, it has been a long time in the making. And with it also we finally have everyone meet each other, that took forever. And man did they drag that meeting out even more over the course of the episode.

In general I think this season was pretty good at growing the characters of 86. They have all really ended up in a good spot character wise, and they have grown a whole bunch from where it started. Honestly it is kinda surprisingly to me that they have actually had so much development, I expected some of it to take way longer.

If this season has any major issues, it would be everything surrounding the Republic and Lena. It honestly kinda feels like the author didn’t really know were they wanted to go with the Republic after the content in the first season, so decided they just wouldn’t do anything with them. We have some flashbacks and context this final episode about what happened with the Republic during the fight. And we vaguely know that Lena had a new squad. But in general everything involving the Republic during the second season is just a complete mystery, and I’m sad we didn’t get that. They probably could have easily filled an entire season focused on Lena and the Republic having a hopeless struggle against the Legion. With general development of the Republic citizens and 86 district citizens being forced to fight together and work together to try and survive. I kinda hope we get something like that before whatever S3 releases for the show.
