Princess Connect! Re:Dive Season 2 : Episode 9

Man, I am straddling a line between giving the show a better score for the amazing animation or taking points off for really not understanding anything that is happening. I’m watching this episode, and this fight between two characters, and I don’t understand any of it. I’ll be honest, I don’t even understand the context behind the world, like is this a video game is this real life is it a vrmmo thing? Not a clue.

It feels like this is a continuation of I guess the games story, but I never really played the game for more than a couple hours. And once they go away from the traditional gacha stuff of interacting with random characters and doing fun side quests, things just fall apart. The bigger story just really isn’t well done from my point of view for understanding anything.

I know Yuuki has had some time of reincarnation after dying to Kaiser in a previous time, or is it loop. Is this whole thing like endless time loops of people trying to get the correct outcomes. It just isn’t explained well enough in the show. So no matter how pretty the animation is, the story makes things suffer hard.

And outside of Yuuki and the reincarnation or looping, what about our other major side characters. Karyl, Pecorine, and Kokkoro? Are they all related in some way also to the loops and reincarnating as well, or does Yuuki get stuck with a brand new team each time around in hopes things change. It all just needs so much better explanation for non-game playing viewers.
