I can’t help but feel like the pacing of the show is completely off compared to what it must be in the source. Everything seems to move really quickly with no rest at all. We go from one serious event to the next with nothing else happening in between. Where as I feel like it would work much better with half of the major events happening.

Maybe have a war happen. But than spend 2 episodes just focus on slower stories at home, no larger threats or plans. Or even major plot ties at all. Instead just showing that Wein can actually be a good ruler at home and help his people, and not just strategize and fight wars and battles. Plus it would have helped build his character and relationships with those around him, maybe have some enjoyable moments with Ninym.
