The Faraway Paladin: Episode 9

Now that we are out into the world of this show. And Will is kinda out by himself and able to do as he pleases. I don’t think I really like him. He is honestly a very generic hero character, like I can’t say he is anything special or unique. He is just the generic good guy who knows nothing about the world with very little knowledge. That is like his entire character, he has nothing else going for him.

And when he was with the ghosts that lack of knowledge and the overpowered generic feeling was rather masked. But now that it is out in full force, yea it does rather ruin everything about his character. I feel like by this point we have moved far beyond this style of character. Your main character needs something more than a generic good guy hero to be remotely interesting, unless of course your making a parody.

This is than combined with the generic high ranking priest who obviously does evil things as well, and will end up being killed or imprisoned soon by our hero through some events. The antagonistic prince character being yet overused character that is not interesting. And being just 3 episodes from being finished, I can see none of these things improving at all. I didn’t expect to say this, but I almost wish they hadn’t left really boring and drawn out ghosts now.
