Horimiya: Episode 1

Published by ThyMrMan on

Always have loved the manga this is based on, well mostly. I liked the manga earlier on when it was focused on Hori and Miyamura, but as it has progressed it moved away from focusing on them. So at least with this show I’ll be able to watch the parts of the manga that I really liked, since it will definitely end before it reaches that point.

For the first episode wise, I felt it was pretty decent. But I am worried about how quickly they jumped through the events of the manga. I feel like if you don’t read the manga, you would end up a bit confused after watching this first episode. Outside of the quick pace, I was satisfied with the way they presented the characters and their interactions thus far.

Something that did shock me is that the visual style is a bit different than the norm. It isn’t much, but it is enough to make the show really stand out from the rest of the shows in the season. Unfortunately the music didn’t stand out much to me, not enough to listen to outside of the show that is.
