Higehiro : Episode 8

Man I am really worried about the route they seem to be taking the show and characters. Really worried. This entire episode it felt like they kept dropping romantic hints. Hints that maybe Yoshida really does like Sayu and that Sayu likes him back. But I really hope this doesn’t go that way, it would ruin the relationship they had, and ruin yet another show/manga for me. I really don’t want to see another show/manga when two characters have vastly different ages and power dynamics fall in love. It just doesn’t feel good. Lets keep them in this sibling style relationship, in which both of them help each other grow as characters.

Now another I will say, I can tell that we have had to cut some things in order to meet the 13 episode limit. Sure we cut the stuff with Yoshida’s Ex. But also it feels like we have cut character development as well. It really feels like we have gotten a large jump in growth in just a couple episodes, that is missing the content that made that growth occur.

As for Sayu’s brother showing up and wanting to take her home, I hope it happens. I want it to go smoothly. Let Sayu go home, and you know continue growing and going to school. And let Yoshida get on with his life as well. Anything besides just letting her go home I feel is too aggressive or controlling, and entering really wrong territory. But once again, I am worried they will go the complete opposite way that I would want this to go.
