Well they finally did it, after literally no progress for the entire 2 seasons. They finally had romantic progress, and sure it is great. Great ending for the show. But seriously it is harmed for me by how little this actually feels earned to me. They have shared vary few actual romantic scenes together, or shown much progress in building a relationship at all. They kinda had a love at first sight thing go on, and than nothing else happened for so long. And than suddenly Hawke is forced to make the decision to confess and marry her to protect her from politics essentially.

And it just doesn’t work for me. No matter how lovely the scene is in the end. I just don’t feel like it was really a great romantic journey to get here. Of course we also end up with one of the largest issues with romantic manga/light novels/anime, nothing happens for hours and hours. They confess. And than the show/book is over now. I understand that the light novel is apparently still on-going, but nothing in the anime has made me want to read the light novel, essentially since it sounds like they are going off on some other adventure and not actually exploring the romance aspects again.

So I guess in the end this show was fine, but did nothing for me. The 2 seasons have been a very average isekai, with a somewhat interesting system of magic for the protagonist. But nothing else really put it over the top for me. And for anime, I just can’t say average does it for me anymore. I never felt any rush to go and watch the latest episode of the show, and that is basically the entire issue.
