Well in the end things got wrapped up. They managed to destroy the gate, and also not lose a single named character. I am a bit disappointed on that front, it feels like they won this major battle with no real sacrifices. Sure a bunch of un-named characters died, but the main cast all survived the final battle. Which once again really ruins the impressions of the Wulgaru and how dangerous they are. They just don’t have consistent threat levels at all. It would have made for a more depressing show, but I would have liked to see the Wulgaru kill off more named characters along the way, just something to show they are an incredibly dangerous opponent. And therefor when they reach this point everyone knows the true stakes since we have since it time and time again.

I guess I say I’ve enjoyed the show enough. Didn’t really hate it and gonna watch the rest of the material, that movie and OVA, sometime in the future. But it just doesn’t go far enough with the whole invading alien race that will kill everything angle at all.
