So the plan is to put everyone one the single station, and use it as a massive base to move everyone closer to the front lines. And than finally use the ship to power their super laser they are planning to use to destroy the gate during the coming battle. I’m just gonna ignore the physics and logic about how a space station obvious meant for recreation could get used and survive a massive space battle, and just enjoy the concept.

But we also have leadership trying to protect Izuru in some fashion once again. Concerned about him, they have decided once again to keep him back so he can’t push himself too far. Which honestly just feels super cheap, and like the commanders aren’t very good at separating the greater goal from their personal feelings. Sure he may be fairly injured or might have side effects from intense fighting this time, but not like you have a second chance here. Kinda a one off mission at this point, you either win or loose with this one. So wouldn’t you commit all your available resources to the fight.
