Gatchaman Crowds : Episode 4

I don’t really understand what was happening with this episode. It seems like 2 episodes or more got condensed into a single episode with how fast events happened. We get properly introduced to Berg, some alien who goes around destroying planets. And learn he is the one who gave Rui his abilities, and Rui is sharing them with other people to stop issues.

The problem is just how random and scattered Berg is. None of their actions make any sense or contain any logic. They have just kinda shown up in this episode and caused a bunch of chaos, without much reason behind it. They claim to want to destroy the planet, but I don’t see how this gets there.

Also some of the dialogue this episode suffered from sounding deep and insightful, but was actually just meaningless.
