Devil Survivor 2: The Animation : Episode 4

This was some of the dumbest and nonsensical large scale fight I think I’ve ever seen. That also just looks terrible and impossible to actually follow the action. You have hundreds of random people holding up cell phones, apparently controlling their summoned monsters somehow. That whole methodology has never been explained. Everyone has hundreds of identical summons just standing around shooting this thing. And the entire plot for the episode is, somebody standing on a building with a cell phone. Now that I think about it, why are these magical beings summoned and controlled with cell phones? How does the technology and magic in this world actually relate to each other?

I have never played the original game. But I highly doubt this whole scene went down anything close to the way it has in this anime.
