Blue Exorcist : Episode 2

What exactly is going on with these characters and this show. So let me get this straight, this kid has been the son of Satan for his entire life. And been living around a bunch of monks that defeat Demons for years now. And yet nobody in the family ever noticed something was wrong ever, nobody ever noticed the monks going out and killing Demons in the middle of the night. I absolutely refuse to believe this.

The progression also feels really strange and rushed. We go from him fighting with somebody, to them becoming a Demon, to him becoming Satan’s son, and now the Father is dead, and Satan temporarily took over the body to gloat. Like it just feels like a lot happened in two episodes, and it just didn’t have proper space to develop in a way that is satisfying. Hell, all this happened and I still don’t understand what is going on it the world at all.

Rin himself, I don’t really understand his character. Or how he is developing from here on out. Is he just going to grow as a fighter to try and kill Satan really, that the whole goal. Because Satan killed his father, the guy I honestly couldn’t tell that he cared about for the beginning at all. All I do know is based on the preview, he is headed off to some special school I guess to learn to fight Demons, which I’m sure will end up with all the normal school hi-jinks along the way.
