Pokémon Horizons : Episode 2

After this second episode I can easily say I think I will enjoy this show. It doesn’t seem like it will play out like the pokemon I remember, with some endless adventure that has some vague far off goal. It isn’t just a endless collectathon that lasts forever. I get the idea that this anime has a planned story and ending, they know exactly how long they want it to go and how they want the characters to develop. And they are willing to tell a more mature and modern story to go along with that development. Honestly I love this development, it gives me a reason to actually watch and enjoy the characters and story.

Alongside this, we have some really good animation. I’ve seen short clips of modern pokemon before, along with watching some of the youtube exclusive stuff. But man does this show look really good. Animation and visuals are super clean and fluid, and the fights just look pretty impressive.

Honestly from these first two episodes, I’ve decided I’m committed to the show and want to see where it will go. Now if only I could get these same feelings from a modern pokemon game, maybe someday.
