The Eminence in Shadow : Episode 12

Really looking forward to this arc. We finally get to see some members of Shadow Garden actually fight and show off their skills some. And just in general get closer to them finally after really not know anything for so long. But also get to see more about the history and backstory of the world and the Diablos Cult.

Now for something completely different, the general style of the Sanctuary in the anime. Honestly I’m kinda shocked, at how the anime has decided to go a completely different direction with the Sanctuary. In both the Manga and Light Novel the Sanctuary matches largely what you would expect, a kinda stone fortress that matches much of the style of the rest of the world. You have stone walls and a typical dungeon scene, and the cells are metal bars in typical style. So them going with this modern style for the Sanctuary is like a massive change in style and tone. Not entirely sure what is going on with that at all. I don’t know if it really fits, given I don’t think we have seen the Cult use anything I would consider modern technology in the past, but maybe this is a decision based on author import. Maybe the author has decided to move things in a different direction with the Cult, and is using the anime as a way to show that. In the end though, I kinda like the change and don’t hate it. I can see it being interesting, if they can somehow make the existence of this modern laboratory fit with the rest of the style of the world that is.
