Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic : Episode 6

I wasn’t expecting a sudden 6month time skip at all, that feels really random and unexpected. Like I’m sure these characters have been in adventures and met other people along the way in their 6 months of travel. So why was that all skipped? Also kinda odd to build up these couple characters in the caravan, which will be in the show for maybe 1 more episode before they reach the city.
