Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury : Episode 8

Bit of a slower episode to set-up the next fight in the show. This time it looks like it will be between Suletta and Aerial against Shaddiq and the anti-gundam weapons his father has sent over to him. And I don’t see Suletta losing this fight, but what I do want to see is the actual limits of Aerial being pushed. Thus far we have barely seen Aerial actually do anything that outstanding or going beyond the normal limits of a mobile suit. Suletta has only unlocked Aerial once, and it was for a very short moment. I really want to see what will happen when she goes all out to defeat some anti-gundam weapons, unlock a couple levels of Aerial and really push the limits.
As for the constantly developing backstory between Suletta and Prospera about why she hid that Aerial was a gundam. The whole conversation felt really odd and off-putting. Prospera was leading that conversation very strongly and pretty much controlled what Suletta would ask and finish it all on her own with no chance for further questions. I don’t really know what it means, but it felt odd. As for the actual question of hiding Aerial being a gundam, honestly I don’t really feel like it is all that important. Suletta isn’t a very social person and wouldn’t do a very good job a deceiving people in saying Aerial wasn’t a gundam if she knew the truth. I don’t think there was any dark secret behind that, just recognizing Suletta’s weakness.
There has also been some discussions that perhaps Suletta and Eri aren’t the same people. That the kid from the prologue isn’t the same kid we are seeing now. Based on the discussions over timelines from the previous episode, with the events being 21 years ago despite Suletta only being 17 now. Along with Suletta not Cardo from the video, even though she was the grandmother figure in the prologue. I have some mixed feelings about the possibility. The simple solution is kinda as follows to me. Suletta just might not have very strong memories about a woman she liked as a kid, and the events discussed 21 years ago might have just been a different event that kicked off the long process that culminated in the prologue. Of course the more complicated and sinister possibility is that Eri has died during this 21 year period. Something went wrong with the Aerial and her connection, and Aerial killed her. In response Prospera had another child in Suletta, and refined whatever process they have to make the connection between Suletta and Aerial stronger and to get rid of the issues that killed Eri. And is now using Suletta to get revenge on the people who killed her husband 21 years ago along with so many others. But I do wonder if Prospera is that type of character, she seemed to genuinely love Eri in the prologue. And I don’t know if her character fits that mold that would quickly get over and ignore the death of Eri, and create another child to go on a revenge mission in Aerial. It just seems like a very dark character turn for Prospera, that I don’t know if it really fits who we saw in the prologue. Though if Suletta was some medial experiment who grew up in a lab, it would explain her communication issues.
