Is this technically progress we are seeing, yes. Hana is getting more concerned about Sakurai and how he might be taken away from her. And is starting to actively think of ways to keep him around her and make him like her. But despite this, it doesn’t feel like progress. We don’t see any real changes happening at all with their relationship. They are pretty much still at the same place now as they were at the start of the season. Which is one of the main issues with this show, and the source.
