RWBY: Ice Queendom : Episode 2

I’m sad to say, but I just don’t like this show all that much. It just does not work nearly as well as the original web animation worked at all. They cut out so many character scenes and fun character moments and jokes that developed them all. So much stuff ended up compressed and cut that it just doesn’t work as well at all as the original. Through in the much worse fight scenes, because somehow Shaft didn’t manage to make combat that was as fluid as Monty did in the original, and it just looks so much slower and boring. Combine that with the much much worse music, as a package it is just a much worse show.

The main things it improves is how it looks visually, looking much more modern. And technically while also being much worse, it is trying to craft a more coherent story I think. Since they know how many episodes they have and how they want the story to develop, unlike the original that was a tad disorganized and scattered in that aspect.

But I just don’t think that is enough. I just find myself watching the episode and saying, I should just go and rewatch more of the original. Already rewatched volume 1 after watching the first episode and being disappointed.
