Lycoris Recoil : Episode 1

And we have a new A-1 Pictures show, and it is an original. No manga or light novel to deal with, so we should hopefully be able to get a complete and satisfying story. And it is A-1 so it does look good, will probably be one of the best looking shows of the season as is standard.

Right off the start this is a very disturbing world they have crafted, a secret Japanese agency that takes orphan girls and puts them through a assassin and military academies to craft young soldiers to protect the peace. Really a shocking way to start of the show. And I can freely predict some decent depression and sadness when we eventually see a decent number of these girls get slaughtered in various fights as the show ramps up to it’s conclusion.

As for plot predictions, I don’t think this is gonna be a very ground breaking show in any way. Got a secret society that is tasked with protecting the peace. A guy who appears good and well-liked in public, but is really some villain who wants something and to destroy the status-quo. A hacker who is super good at their job, and despite mid-episode impressions is in no way dead, despite that explosion in the building. Meanwhile we have the main characters, who are kinda opposites of each other and will both grow and use their conflicting abilities and viewpoints to save the city by the end.

Taken together and from the first episode, I don’t think this show will break any genre norms to do anything overly interesting. But will probably be a perfectly fine and enjoyable show in the end.
