Summer Time Rendering: Episode 7

Oh man, so much great development this episode on all fronts. So much more information about the shadows and how to deal with them have now been passed on, which means Shinpei can now reuse the info in the next loop to effect the way things develop. Which for somebody timelooping is really the main goal. Also got to eliminate and entire group of shadows, learn some are now different somehow, and just a tiny bit of info about the goal of the shadows.

But of course the main point, and what I’m really interested in is Ushio. She has finally made her return after being missing in the previous episode. Still wearing that swimsuit, and apparently she can get hungry. I really don’t know what is going on with her, or how she will develop and end the show out. If I had to guess, something changed with the way that Shiori copied and killed her, maybe an imperfect copy. But when that happened she didn’t get fully transformed into a shadow the same way as the others. But what that actually means, I’m not sure.

And what it means for end game for Ushio, well at the moment I am seeing three options; she lives on as a shadow, somehow regains her full humanity, or dies in the final battle and helps defeat the main evil. And I honestly would be fine with any of the options I’m predicting. They would all lead to a really good conclusion for her character. Though of course this is still early in the show, only 7 episodes into a 25 episode show, don’t know how things will still end up being effected and changed.
