The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2 : Episode 10

Oh man, so much backstory. So much glorious backstory. We have finally learned were the Book of Vanitas came from, and why Vanitas has it. Along with who the heck this new character is who randomly showed up and episode ago without warning. That is still one of the worst habits of this show, characters show up without much warning and suddenly interrupt everything with a new story line. And they rely fully on flashbacks to explain who they are and why they are now important.

What I still want to know is what happened at the end there between Vanitas and the Blue Moon Vampire and Mikhail. It ends suddenly with Vanitas showing up and stabbing them, but it just seems too clean. I can’t help but feel like Vanitas killing the vampire was in some way required to save Mikhail from dying, and Mikhail just doesn’t know it. and Vanitas doesn’t want to tell him for whatever reason.

I don’t really know how this confrontation will end. I kinda have a hope that it ends well for them. And that somehow they can make up. But that almost feels like it would be too clean and happy to be an ending for this story to happen this close to the end. I feel like this is the introduction of whoever will be a major character in the next season.
