Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere: Episode 13

I can finally say I am done with this show, and by the end I still don’t have any idea what is going on with it at all. I understand nothing after 13 episodes. I don’t understand the politics, I don’t understand the combat, I don’t understand the history, I have learned nothing. I’ve been doing some reading that says that this is like this prologue to this much larger world, and than they recommend I go read a 10000 word blog post that explains everything to me. But, if you require a massive blog post to understand your show you failed.

And of course to add on to the failure of a story, background, combat. Is the failure to make me like or be interested, or even remember many of the characters. We have this absolutely massive cast of characters, far too many, and many of them have important roles to play at times. But it is just too much without enough time to even remotely know names and abilities and personalities. So instead they just come off as characters with unique designs that help at times at random.

And than you have Tori Aoi, and the failure at comedy. Being an idiot and various sexual abuse is not comedy, in any show. But especially not in a show when you are trying to tell a serious story. It is a story that includes death and destruction and kidnapping and forced sexual reassignment, in a story like this random comedy does not work. Pick your tone, do you want to go serious than go serious and stay serious. But stop with the over the top comedy and crap, especially at times that don’t fit at all, like in the middle of important fights and moments.

Man, this show just didn’t work for me at all and I’ve honestly hated it. Damn, I should just turn this into a review at this point.
