Freezing : Episode 1

A show with ecchi and romance tags but no harem tag from 2011. Hmm, this might actually be half decent. And given it had a decent enough audience to get 2 seasons. Know what, I’m in. I’ll give it a half decent try to see what I think of it.

Right off the bat, kinda mixed feels about this to be honest. You have the over-the-top ecchi scenes with half naked girls fighting each other. But on the other you have gratuitous violence and people getting limbs removed. So I guess while the clothes getting torn is overdone, in a way it kinda fits also.

What will be concerning for me is the Kazuya. What type of person is he going to be. I really hope he isn’t a super shy and unwilling to do anything. And instead willing to step forward and be a bit aggressive. Really his attitude will make or break the show for me, in ecchi shows I need a main character who doesn’t act like a middle school kid for the entire show.

Now the boob flop at the end with him getting Satellizer confused with his sister. Really unnecessary. But will be interesting to see her reaction to it all.

Visually the show wasn’t specially at all. Your typical animation from the time and therefor not winning any awards. I do have a feeling watching this show when it was airing on tv back in the day would have been painful due to censorship.
