KOWLOON GENERIC ROMANCE : Episode 4

Ok, feels like a lot to unpack in this episode. From clones vanishing to Kudou saying he killed Reiko. But lets start with a theory, and I’m gonna base it around the gene terra. Which I feel holds far more importance now than I did in the past. I’m gonna go with the idea that this is actually a third version of Kowloon, first was torn down in the 90’s and the second something we don’t know happened to. But the gene terra has recreated it along with the people who were in the city at the time, but not in the same state as when it was destroyed. Instead it has a slightly earlier version of Kowloon and its residents. As for the clones, I feel like they must be creations of gene terra of the residents of the city when it took its snapshot of the city, but of course the actual residents of the city would have moved on and out when the city was destroyed. So there now exists 2 copies of most/many of the citizens, the real version and the clone inside Kowloon. Though I’m still trying to figure out how Reiko and Kudou play into this fully, and I hope we learn more in the next episode following that cliffhanger. Reiko is apparently not a normal clone, given her mole isn’t something that would be copied. And the talk about Reiko’s death seems to be based around an accident, so not something Kudou actually did but perhaps feels responsible for. It is odd, but I’m almost feeling like Kudou might be the driving force in some way behind Kowloon, the clones, and the current state of Reiko. Maybe his personal feelings of having killed Reiko lead to him making some deal with whatever is behind gene terra. Another just odd scene is near the end when the computer is asking Kudou to overwrite the information in the system as it already exists, what does that actually mean. Is the gene terra still going through and rebuilding and changing things in real time, and people just don’t really notice?
