Garo: The Animation : Episode 1/2

So initial thoughts on this show is, really generic. Like man this is off to such a generic start I can’t believe it. Evil dude poisons a King and starts killing a bunch of people who can threaten him, with the plan to take over the kingdom. Son needs to escape and train to return to fight the evil dude in the future. Meanwhile you have Leon & German out doing there thing killing stuff, and some dark backstory for Leon that he will need to get over during the course of the show in order to unlock his true power. Gonna bet these two groups meet up at some point and work with each other to take down the evil dude, who happened to also kill Leon’s mother.

And at the same time, it just doesn’t have that much else going for it. The fight scenes are well enough done, just nothing super special. The show doesn’t look amazing or stand out in any way either. This show just doesn’t have much going for it at all.

I will say I’ve never watched the live action show it is apparently based on. So maybe I’m missing some stuff from that which would improve what I’ve seen a ton. Maybe there are a bunch of references or fun moments that tie into that. But at the moment, honestly don’t know if I’m going to finish this one.
